A note from Fr. Andrew:
Services for this morning, Sunday, Dec. 15, have been canceled due to driving conditions from the winter weather. I drove to the church about 6:30am, and the roads here in Emmaus, while drivable, were not very good. In addition, the church parking lot had not yet been plowed, so even if these things do get cleaned up some time in the next couple of hours, there will not be enough time for the needed preparation before services.
If you are able to get to another Orthodox church closer to you which will be holding services, I encourage you go to there, using your best judgment as to whether it’s safe to drive. If you do stay in this morning as my family will be doing, I encourage you to pray together as a family in your home icon corner.
You can find a brief rule for morning prayers at this link.
It would be appropriate to add some of the hymns for the day and read the Scripture passages together (before the final “Through the prayers…”), which you can find on the last couple of pages at this link. (If you can’t sing them, it’s fine to read them out loud.)
As always, stay safe and be wise!
