Many Christians who are otherwise serious about their commitment to Christ often lose steam during the summer.
Did you know that church attendance and tithing/giving (two of the clearest measures of commitment) usually drop significantly during the summer months?
Don’t let the summer slump negatively impact your spiritual life! Here are two easy things you can do:
1. Keep attendance steady: If you’re not traveling, keep coming to your home church every Sunday. We don’t take summers off! If you are on vacation over a weekend, find a local Orthodox church to attend at least on Sunday morning (and be sure to contact the local priest to let him know you’re coming).
- Bonus Tip: If you need help finding a church near your vacation spot, ask Fr. Andrew.
2. Keep your giving steady: If you’re traveling, mail in your tithes and offerings or give them to a family member to turn in for you.
- Bonus Tip: Use EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) to let your bank automatically give for you every month! (Forms are available in the narthex or can be downloaded at this link.)
